Special Particle Physics Seminar

Abstract:

The TREK program at J-PARC has been designed to discover new physics beyond the Standard Model with positively charged stopped kaons. The measurements have the ultimate goal to discover T violation in kaon decays. At the present stage of the program, the approved experiment E36 includes a search for lepton universality violation in the ratio of the Ke2 and Kmu2 decay widths, as well as searches for a heavy sterile neutrino in two-body kaon decay, and for a massive gauge boson A' at masses below 350 MeV/c2. An overview of the planned experiment and the current project status will be presented.
