Abstract:
Gaia and OGLE are wide-field surveys delivering hundreds of transients every year. I will present the surveys and discuss the results on black hole hunt in two channels: microlensing and tidal disruption events. Combined OGLE photometry and Gaia astrometry will soon yield robust lens mass measurements and hence the stellar mass Galactic black holes will be discovered. Recently Gaia is also finding rare but interesting microlensing events in the disk, including a spectacular binary microlensing event, Gaia16aye. OGLE and Gaia are also finding somewhat unusual candidates for TDEs, e.g. OGLE16aaa and OGLE17aaj and Changing-Look AGNs.
