Abstract:
KASI is a national research institute funded by the Korean Government. The main mission of KASI is (1) to conduct front-line research in astronomy and astrophysics, and (2) to maintain and develop large observing facilities for the KASI and Korean astronomical communities. The research topics and observing facilities of KASI cover most of astronomical and astrophysical fields. In my talk, I will briefly introduce some institutional aspects of KASI and explain its main research activities, including some recent science highlights and my personal research on the exoplanet search around giant stars.
