Abstract:
Non-perturbative effects in string/M-theory appear as e.g. Worldsheet, D-brane and membrane instantons. In my talk, I will report that low-energy effective theories of M2-branes such as ABJ(M) theory provide good laboratory to probe these effects via AdS/CFT correspondence.
By combining supersymmetry localization and Fermi gas approach, we can compute partition functions of various M2-brane theories on S^3 very precisely and predict non-pertubative structures of dual string/M-theory.
