Abstract:
In this talk I will describe the model of the string with massive endpoints. I will show how it can be derived from a holographic model of strings in a curved background and its applications to hadron phenomenology. I will discuss the quantization of the string with massive endpoints within the framework of effective string theory, which allows us to write an action for the string outside the critical dimension of D=26, and present the computation of the intercept - the quantum correction to the Regge trajectory modified by the endpoint masses.
The talk will be based on the paper [arXiv:1801.00798].
