Particle Physics Seminar: A review on Particle Flow detectors for high energy collider physics and beyond
Dr. Adrián Irles, IFIC institute, Valencia
Abstract:
High precision physics at high energy collider facilities (present and future) requires a change on the paradigm of the techniques for event reconstruction. Most of the new detector concepts are optimized to support the so called Particle Flow Algorithms (PFA).
These algorithms are based on the reconstruction and separation of all individual particles produced in a HEP collision.
For these, the different subdetectors (vertex detectors, central trackers, calorimeter systems) need to fulfill very tight requirements.
In this seminar, I will focus on the main aspects of the PFA and I will discuss with some detail the status of some of the technological solutions for the high granularity calorimetric systems, developed within by the CALICE and FCAL collaborations and its application to other fields as is the case of the LUXE (Laser Und XFEL Expriment).
