Astronomy & Astrophysics Seminar

Abstract:

Advanced LIGO (The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory), has completed its first Observation Run (O1), and found Gravitational Waves from Binary Black Holes' Coalescense. I shall discuss the event GW150914 and preliminary results from the entire run, with the relevant physics and some astro implications, as well as future LIGO plans.
