High Energy Theory Group Seminar: Pedagogical introduction to the recent powerful exact results in a 4D gauge theory

Abstract: 

I will show that the planar 4D N=4 SYM has many similarities with the usual harmonic oscillator. Following this simple analogy we arrive at some recent exact results for such fundamental observables as quark-antiquark potential and even usual QCD BFKL Pomeron.

We also discuss an extremely precise method for evaluation of the spectrum of the theory for finite coupling.
