Abstract:
In this talk I will describe how we can look for physics beyond the standard model (BSM) in stars. In particular, I will focus on axion-like particles and their mixing to photons in the presence of external magnetic field. Interestingly enough, the dispersion relation of a longitudinal plasmon always crosses the dispersion relation of the axion, thus leading to a resonant conversion. I will describe the axion emission rate and apply it to astrophysical systems like the Sun, White Dwarfs and Supernovae.
