Abstract:
I will show how we can use both machine-learning and maximum-likelihood techniques to map the cosmic web at low redshift. Using redshift surveys with distance-indicator catalogs, we’ll see how each method probes the density and velocity fields. Will discuss specific cases that illustrate how the two approaches are closely connected.
