Abstract:

The Hall effect has long been used to identify the sign and density of charge carriers in metals.
However,  traditional Fermi-liquid and Boltzmann transport theory fail to explain ‘’Hall anomalies’’ which have been observed in  strongly correlated and multiband metals and flux flowing superconductors.  I will review our recent advances in magneto-transport  theory, including new formulas for Hall coefficients allow us to explain Hall anomalies near the Mott insulator  and Hall sign reversals in flux flow regimes  of superconductors.
