Abstract:

I will discuss a possibility of the odd-frequency pairing in disordered superconductors. I will show that the instability to the odd-frequency paired state develops near the transition into the state of conventional superconductivity. The pairing in the odd-frequency channel is a result of a hybrid mechanism of mixing the superconducting fluctuations in the singlet s-wave channel together with (non-critical) spin-density fluctuations. We believe that this kind of pairing might have already been observed in strongly disordered superconductors. I will discuss the unexplained so far experimental data in view of the considered pairing. A crucial point is a domain structure of the odd-frequency paired state. The work is done in collaboration with Dr. Vladimir Zyuzin
