Center for Water Research

Water is the most essential component for living. In 2017 more than 650 million people have no access to safe water! That is one in every ten people of the worldwide population. Many countries around the world are reaching the limits of their water supply due to the continuous scarcity of water mostly in arid and semi-arid regions. Thus, wastewater effluent reuse provides a major alternative for fresh and potable water shortage. While most of the media coverage is dedicating their attention to water quantity, the water quality is the real concern that may severely affect human health.

We believe that fundamental research fusing our background knowledge with our creative imagination to come up with ideas and then implement them captivates us. We believe that advances in the field of water research and technologies are particularly critical in the Mediterranean basin as well as worldwide. The center will bring together knowledge and cooperation between researchers from various disciplines and as a mean of developing and implementing pioneering water and wastewater treatment technologies that will secure high- quality water supply, both for drinking and for agricultural purposes, and for a safe environment.
