Abstract:
Entanglement is a useful concept for understanding condensed matter many-body systems, and is the ultimate resource for quantum computation. The fascinating recent developments that I will focus on are based on the symmetry-decomposition of entanglement. Apart from the fact that this symmetry decomposition can be both computed and measured, I will discuss profound effects that it has for example in topological states of matter. I will show how one can measure it in general mixed states.
