Center for Earthquake Research (Seismo-Lab)
updated: 18.07.2016
Further Information:
The Earthquake Seismology group at TAU carries out frontier research in the field of earthquake and realtime seismology. It operates a unique experimental seismic network deployed across borders in the Dead Sea region (DeadSeaNet). DeadSeaNet is the only existing array of mini-array in the world that record earthquakes generated by a large active tectonic structure (Dead Sea Fault) in realtime. DeadSeaNet is presently used to develop and calibrate faster and more robust earthquake early warning algorithms. Our group is also committed to earthquake education and preparedness. We are presently involved in the development of low-cost educational seismic networks and of an interactive earthquake learning program for youth.
