The Department of Statistics and Operations Research includes 12 faculty members with a broad range of interests.

The department carries out an extensive research program with a mix of theory and applications. Active areas of research include statistical theory and methods, data science, biostatistics,  operations research, game theory and mathematical economics. Faculty members are engaged in scientific collaborations with partners from computer science, medicine, economics, biology, physics, engineering, psychology and other fields. Many of the research projects carried out in the department have been supported by grants, both from Israeli and foreign sources.

The researchers in the department maintain a worldwide network of colleagues, many of whom visit the department frequently to attend workshops, symposia and seminars. Additional information on our research work can be found under the subject headings and in the individual faculty profiles.
