The School of Chemistry congratulates Bara Levit for winning the prestigious Colton Scholarship for the year 2024-25
Bara Levit is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Shlomi Reuveni from the Department of Physical Chemistry
Congratulations to Bara Levit who won the prestigious Colton Scholarship for the year 2024-25 for special excellence in research and studies.
Bara's research topic is: Fluctuations in complex systems.
Randomness, or stochasticity, is a fundamental aspect of nature, giving rise to order and structure amidst chaos. In her PhD, Bara Levit explores the effects of randomness and stochastic fluctuations in complex systems ranging from random walks to proteins.
The Colton Scholarship Fund was founded in 1988 by Stewart and Judy Colton from the USA, and annually awards scholarships to four or five outstanding students from all academic disciplines at Tel Aviv University. The students are selected on the basis of personal excellence in research and studies
The scholarship is given for one year with the possibility of extension up to 3 years.
The purpose of the donors is to help young scholars of outstanding academic merit and potential to advance in their respective fields without the necessity of looking for additional sources of income.
