Mechanical Workshop for Research and Development

About:

The mechanical workshop is used as a supporting framework by the School of Chemistry and the School of Physics to assist in research, development and production.

The services are provided to teaching, service and research laboratories of the School of Chemistry and the School of Physics, as well as to researchers and groups of other departments. 

The staff consists of highly experienced personnel, possessing a wide knowledge in technology and manufacturing. 

The workshop's goal is to provide quick and high-quality professional services.

 

Services offered by the workshop:

  • Assistance and consultation in designing, developing and manufacturing of mechanical products for the School of Chemistry, the School of Physics and for external groups

  • Independent design and development of products, devices and accessories. The designing process includes modelling parts using CAD software, performing analyses and technical drawings, as well as production

  • Providing guidance for students of the School of Chemistry and the School of Physics who use SOLIDWORKS software for modelling parts, technical drawings and analyses

 

Means of production at the workshop:

  • A range of conventional workshop machines

  • 4 Axis CNC HASS milling machine

  • 4 Axis CNC OKUMA lathe machine

  • 3D Printers

  • Laser cutter PLS 4.75

  • Advanced CAD, manufacturing and analysis software

  • A surface grinder

  • Welding power supply, a welding point machine

  • Sheet metal bending and cutting machines

  • A stock of various raw materials
