Physical Chemistry
Physical Chemistry is a branch in science, bridging Chemistry, Physics and Material Sciences. It studies physical properties of matter on a molecular and atomic level and their effects on chemical reactions. On the basis of chemical information, thermodynamical laws, mathematical analyses and computations served by theoretical chemistry, it predicts yet unknown molecular characteristics.
Physical chemistry covers a broad range of fields such as electrochemistry, magnetic resonance, surface chemistry, polymer research, nano technology and self-assembly of nanomaterials, analytical chemistry, catalysis, crystallography, chemical thermodynamics, molecular electronics, chemical dynamics, nano-scale biosensors, nano-tribology, modelling of complex fluids and soft matter and spectroscopy.
Truly, the distinction between Physical Chemistry and Chemical Physics is very vague, and very similar studies are carried out by both disciplines.
